lookin for parts to pass smog
« on: Apr 19, 2014, 12:56:52 PM »
So I'm trying to get my rig to pass CA smog. It's a 1982 22r engine. I have almost everything I need except for the extension piece that runs from the air cleaner to right side of the radiator and I also need the outer piece of the exhaust manifold heat guard. If anyone on here would be willing to sell me either or both I would really appreciate it. The picture below shows the piece that I need on the right. Thanks for the help.

Make one out of flexible tubing yourself, at one point the crossover tube on my 85 efi had cracked so I used some flexible tubing until I found an oem section at the junkyard. I had no issue with smogging it this way. Also in your search don't exclude 2wd trucks, they are the same.

So the smog tester won't care if it's just some rubber hosing? I pretty much just need it for visual inspection but I know there are a few hoses that run from the piece to the coolant(I think) and somewhere on top of the head. What do these hoses/wires do?
