i just pick a used 22re well my fiance got it for me for christmas from an old man he said it came out of a truck he was drive but was rusted out it has just under a 100,000 on it i started pulling it down to check bearing an put new seals in it an it has a dual row timing chain on it but timing cover is same as my motor an it is for sure a 22re motor an it didnt come with any egr system it also has steel chain guides i just trying to figure out if i sould order a stock timing chain or a dual row

Dual row is better.

You need to figure out if it's an early 22re with a dual-row or a late model 22re with the LC Engineering dual-row conversion kit as the chains aren't the same length (98 vs 96 links (early vs late))

if it has steel chain guides in it, then the chain has most likely already been changed.  I could be wrong, but I don't think the factory engine ever came with steel guides.  Every one I have ever worked on had plastic guides, so we always upgraded them to the steel ones when changing the chain.
Why do you want to change the chain?  just because of mileage?  if the chain is not loose and isn't slapping against the guides or timing cover, then there really shouldn't be any reason to change it anyways.

22RE does not come with a mechanical fuel pump you have a 22R not a 22RE. 22R's have 2 versions the short block and the long block, which makes a big difference on parts. The short is the early version and the long is equal to the 22RE which it sounds like you have.

It's the other way around.

The newer 22r blocks are shorter than the older blocks.

And 22Rs came in the older and newer blocks.    I'm not sure what year 22REs where introduced, so they may only come in the later (shorter) block.
