South Carolina check in.
« on: Mar 17, 2005, 03:52:01 PM »
Just checking in. I love the site. Little more laid back than pirate.
I'm working on a 1980 pickup. I put a 1985 22rec in it with a 1987 computer and intake. I have rears up front and chevys in the back. I just got 36" IROKS. I have welded spiders and 4.37s. I plan to add a second transfer case and gears and lockers soon.
1980 Pickup, 22rec, Rears and Chevys, 36"IROKS, Homebrew cage, bumper, and sliders. Bobbed and dovetailed bedrails. Aussi front, Lincoln rear. 90:1.

I'm not in the military, NATO is just a highschool nickname that kink of stuck. Works for a screen name.

I'm from McClellanville, a small town 30 miles north of Charleston. Not many hills or rocks around here. Nice 4runner. Where are you in the picture.

My front springs are 1980 rears with cut tacoma aals. The rears are 1/2ton 2wd chevys.
I'm going to run 14" 5100 Bilstiens at each corner. After I deal with a blown birf I'll mount the shocks.

I have been to tellico twice. At the time I had a tacoma. I did not like destryoing my DD. Sold the tacoma got a 3/4 ton chevy and bought my 1980. Can't wait to get back. Its about 8 hours for me to get there.

Nice taco. Mine was a 00 trd v6. 3" downey lift. Shackles and aal in back. 33" bfg ats on black rock crawlers. I made a front bumper and sliders. The beginning of trail #2 (rockgarden) gave me a nice dent in the drivers door. The same spot took out my buddys cj8. I got him out and had to quit for the night. I have been regrouping ever since.

Whats your 4runners setup. A good friend lives in atl and he is starting a buildup on an 85. Once my truck is done I'm gonna make a trip to help him put on rears and hy steer.

Well im not really sure. I bought this one with the lift on it. I think its got 3" springs in front and it has Cast iron blocks in the rear. Ill be soon doing something else with the suspension. I just done Hysteer. Its also got a detroit LSD in the front that I can't stand.

Is that the truetrac? I'm trying to decide what to put in the front of my truck. I guess I need to pick a selectable. Whats wrong with the LS.

I think its called Traclock or something like that. its not worth the money that was spent on it. More than once it would not lock up for me. I would go with a Lockright before I bought one of these.
