Hey, total newb checkin in!

Hello to anyone who takes the time to read this. I just joined the forum, and no, I don't have a rig. I am completely clueless about 95% of 4wheeling "stuff". I'm in search of an 85 4runner currently. It's been pretty frustrating. I've had one sold out from under me, one I REALLY wanted but unfortunately got beaten to, and dealt with too many crappy sellers to count. I guess the hard part is that I need this to be my daily driver as well as an inroad to 4wheeling. I've trolled plenty of forum threads to know that I shouldn't buy a totally hooked up rig before I know how to handle something basic. So, I'm located in Fresno, CA and will gladly welcome any advice or leads anyone would care to give as long as they're constructive. Of course I'd love to find something that isn't rusty, but other than that I'm pretty open as long as it's not heavily "crawlered" out.  A/C is a must. If you know what summer is like in Fresno, you understand. I'm currently considering an 85 4runner that I found on Craigslist a couple weeks ago. It's located in Hollywood according to the ad. I've spoken to the guy and quite frankly he's not the friendliest fellow. I asked for more detailed pictures and he flat out said he wasn't going to do that. I told him where I'm located and he still just said come look at it. All this while expressing that he really just wants to sell the thing. Yeah, ok. Anyways, he says he bought it in an auction and knows nothing about it as far as what's been done to it. It's obviously lifted, but other than that I couldn't tell you either. If anyone wants to take a look and offer their findings, by all means please do. If anyone would be so kind as to take time out of their lives and go see the vehicle for me, that would be amazing. We can work out some kind of deal. I can't expect someone to just do that out of the kindness of their heart. So, with that I've rambled too much. The link is below. Thanks for reading.

Sorry, a bit about myself.....My name is James. I live in Fresno, Ca with my wife and our animals. I spent almost 13 years in the Navy and now I'm a full-time student at Fresno State....that's about it! I look forward to learning a lot here.
