Im in the process of turning my 1987 4runner auto 22re, into a 5speed and I have a question regarding the front driveshaft. Ive tried my best to identify the transmission that I installed into the truck.
Long story short I bought the truck, and this trans was given to me along with the truck. So I decided to use it, even though its a G series transmission. I will be upgrading soon, but for the time being, I want to make this thing work for me. I have 2 transmission, one with a gear driven transfer case, and another with a chain driven transfer case. I went ahead and installed the gear driven one, and discovered that the front driveshaft wouldnt work for me.  So I need to determine what front driveshaft I am looking for.

The engine that was in with my auto was no good, so I pulled a 22re from a 91 4runner, along with its 5speed trans. The trans I got out of that truck was the chain driven Gseries trans that I didnt end up using.
Im not quite sure what year the gear driven G series transmission is. Ive attached a picture.
Any help is welcome.

Thanks everyone.

Get a universal flange and you won't have to worry about which one you have.....
