Get a motion detector and wire it up to a siren. 

A buddy has a similar setup, but with a battery charger hooked up to a set of 130Db VW horns.  It gets your attention, if you haven't browned your shorts.  That will keep anybody from stepping onto your property.  That and a sign saying Trespassers will be shot on site.
