Hi, new to the forum but have been a long time reader. Lots of useful info here. I am currently "building" a 1983 toyota pickup. Installing a 2rz, don't flame me too bad it was cheap, dual cases, and some of the other usual mods. Thanks again.

The 1983 truck is nice but in case you didn't know it has square headlights.

So heres a little bit more info about myself and my pickup. I purchased my truck in 2005 completely bone stock except wheels and tires for $1800. I drove it like this for about 4 years and then started working on the interior. First "mod" was custom door panels, which are still on the truck. Secondly was a set of recaros out of a 1992 vw gti. Along with a few audio upgrades but nothing major. These upgrades were good enough to hold me over for a while. Then on Halloween of 2010 when driving home from a friends, I was side swiped by a young woman driving down the highway! It was a completely straight part of the road too. Prolly texting! Luckily she only damaged my bed and no one was injured. We ended up settling without going through insurance so I guess we both won. This incident was the reason I built my "flatbed". With the leftover cash I was able to purchase a set of 2" ome lift springs for the front. I would have gone marlin but that was before I even knew you guys were around. With my bed and my lift I was content on just dd it. I then needed to purchase another vehicle for the new addition to my family. So in April of 2011 I purchased my 1984 toyota tercel 4wd wagon just in time for my son who was born that following June. So earlier this year my truck was parked on the street and some jackass hit my truck and took off! They had hit my left front tire head on coming down the street! How do idiots do this?! They never stopped, so this has brought me to the point where I am at today. I am in the middle of a cab off restoration/build. When the truck was hit, it damaged the frame, front axle, and pushed the tire into the cab approximately 2". Now with the frame replaced and body work done, time to move on to the fun stuff!

Wow what a story! Not much you could do about that hit & run, even with a surveillance camera it'd be a long shot to get the plates. I like those Tercels too!

And now that I think about it, my first mod was the vented rotors and calipers. Could be wrong. Btw mike I think your comment convinced me about the headlight. It wasn't the planet part that made me change my mind either! Lol.

Yeah the tercels fun. Extra low gear is bad ass motor just needs a bit more. Going to do a 4a swap in it once the trucks done. And this is my official 11th post! Yeah pics!

No 4agze or te just a basic 4a. I know boring. And keep it 4wd it has an a series motor in it already so that makes it simple.

I think he is talking about her Tercel. I didn't know the 4WD Tercel's used a 4A-series engine!!

I have seen a few 4A-GE powered Samurai's Someone makes a bellhousing to mate a W56.

The tercel has a 3ac but I've read that the 4a drops right in with very few minor modifications. But this is not the right forum to be talking about that. Lol. Unless marlin wants to make me a locker! That would be amazing!
