How much pre-load did you put on the trunion bearings? FSM call for 6.6-13.2 start pull pounds on the spring gage.

Here is a link to the part out of an 85 FSM on the way you rebuild. It would be a good idea to copy to a disc or flash.

Since most people do not have the SST that is called for I go with one thick and one thin shim on the bottom to center the knuckle. Then I start with one thick one thin on the top, torque every thing to spec on the bottom steering cap and the steering arm. The FSM calls for 71-ft lb on those nuts, unless you have ARP studs on the top, then go to 100-ft lb. You do all of the pre-load measureing with out the knuckle wiper seal installed on the back of the knuckle

I have a purty stiff spring up front i took one leaf out to make it softer and fix my shackle angle..i put the spring back in..and i used one thick one thin top and bottom it fixed alot of it bit still have some camber...i dont have any of the preload gauges..its just weird cus it wasnt like this before the rebuild and i had two thick shims on bottom and non on top..just scared. To try that set up again cus i finnally got it to a decent point and the blocks i had the jack stands on are getting sketchy

first off...HOW bad is it... did yea put the knuckle on upside down/opposite side? been there done that.... secondly, the leaf spring/shackles wont effect camber, (well shouldn't) they affect castor...

I would do as OOPS suggested and start with one thick one thin washer plate between the knuckle and the bearing cap/steering arm..then use a fish scale to find the pull weight...

Well with that leaf out it droped about 3to 4in so im assuming it rolled the axle back or forward wich changed pinion angle and that to myknoledge is the only way to plus or minus camber..tputting that leaf in helped alot..it was bad enough were i was only treading on 3/4 of the tire  :hammerhead:

The comment about the spring force has nothing to do with your suspension. The Factory Service Manual (FSM) has a procedure to measure how tight the bearings are by using a special spring to pull on the knuckle, which can be substituted with a high strength fish scale. The procedure calls for at least 6.6-13.3 lbs of force to start the knuckle rotating (without any steering components attached) if it is significantly less or more then you have issues. It's been a long time since I have dont this so I will stop here. Read the FSM procedure and let us know what you have.

I googled this, here are links to manuals

I also know that these trucks usually LOOK like they have a lot of camber, but they are usually have good camber.

I am talking about rebuilding the front end, not you suspension springs. They have nothing to do with the slop in your knuckles. Go to a sporting goods and buy a spring fish gage, they do not cost that much. If you do not like your jackstands get some new ones, Harbor freight has good ones, they also have spring gages.

I wanna buy it for me???  And i forgot to add that. One thin and one thick took care of the slop..real question it how i have positive camber now after rebuild

Yes, very important that the pre-load  is set right. With wide tires you want to go to the upper end of the spec stated in the FSM. Since 99 I have rebuilt at least thirty of these axles and have never had one with positive camber, negative camber yes, that was because of bent housing. You also need to make sure the alignment is right.
