Amped Radio

I know it's illegal, but if someone was to try and get an amped cb radio, where could he look? Can you buy one that is all set up  since I am in the middle of nowhere closest cb shop is 2 hours away.

It'd be better to find a cb and take it to somebody who's a cb expert and have them juice it up.

Not sure if you'll be able to order one online since shipping something illegal adds additional negative clout. Have you considered getting a HAM license and getting a powerful radio the correct way?

You could buy a cb and learn about cbs and juice it up yourself. Put a "pill" in it.

Like Mike says, ham will get out. Way further than a cb that walks all over everyone else.

100 bucks isn't going to get you vey far.  Your best bet would probably be getting a ham radio and have them put cb channels in it. Best bang for the buck but it's going to be more than $100. That way you don't have to have an external amp to get a lot of power.  How much power are you looking for?  I turned a cobra radio up to 20 watts and that was enough to kick over my 400 watt palmar amp.  If the conditions were right I could talk 300 miles on that setup and be heard clear as day.  At that point it's not as fun though because everyone can hear you but they can't talk back because there radio is junk.

ebay has a lot of illegal radios(juiced up radios) 29ltd models. Have some stock ones too. juiced up radios go for about $200. Just go look and decide.

I use a Texas star "signal enhancer"   Works well for getting out far.

You could contact a tech or shop and send the radio to them to be tweeked.

Look into a 10M radio an have it converted to a CB. Then just have it turned up. you will have an adjustment from 5w to 100ws. On flat ground in town me an my buddy where talking just over 12 miles. When we did it on are regular CBs we could do about 5miles.

funny is i can talk 1000 miles on 5 watts on ham freq's, old school hams used to convert cb's to ham so they could talk to europe on 5 watts

That guy in Alaska was interfering with air plain radios, witch in Alaska is there major way of transport. The guy in Merced  was interfering with other radio channels. Both people where doing things that should have never been done, I was talking about using the 10m as a Cb. witch in that case you are using CB channels an are not interfering with anything.
