Topic: Another GM alternator question.

ive got a 1980 with a 22r and externally regulated Alternator. im switching to a CS-130 with a 3 wire set up. do i need to do a internal regulator conversion (wiring) before i install? im a little confused on this since theres sooo many threads out there and cant seem to get a straight answer.

A CS-130 is internally regulated, so the Toyota stuff has to go.  A little more searching will get you there.

Did you ever get this working? Im having problems with my cs 144 I put in.

yea i followed this diagram. deleted the internal regulator. and the wire that went to the battery was replaced with a 4GA wire with a 150amp fuse.
