yotacrawler1

well got a little bored with front of my truck so decided. to work on the back of it. lol prepping the bed for a good bob(cleaning it) and getting all junk out of it. and had a question need  :help: do you take off the inner bed umm cant think of name of them. or what to call them. but those panels that run alongside inside of bed. should i take those off before i start cutting to bob the bed and cut them down later? or leave them on

Take alot of pics!! Will be bobbing my bed soon so I'll see how you do yours. How many inches ya thinking bout taking out??

yotacrawler1

this my first time ever doing it. so might not turn out that well. and i will for sure. and idk i cant take out too much sense im running 63s. and have shackle hanger scooted back about 4 inches. but im still probably going to take about 8-11"s out

Thats exactly what i was thinking... maybe 12'' since my truck is a long bed

yotacrawler1

yeah my frame might end up being a little bit longer then my bed even after i cut frame off right behind my shackle hangers.  finally moved this into garage so i would stop killing battery in my truck lol.
   :)

yotacrawler1

i put in new cd deck too while was waiting on my die grinder to show up

yotacrawler1

spring hangers and shackle hangers are welded on.

yotacrawler1

ride height about now. need some tires for her

yotacrawler1

where my tires sit in wheel well. might have to move axle to the back pin and get new driveline.

yotacrawler1

decided to take out 11"s

yotacrawler1

friend came over to say what up. so put him to work. that sheet metal stays sharp too after you cut it haha

yotacrawler1

im no good at welding so just blew boogers to tac it on there with my arc welder. till my bro can come up and lay down some jewelry    :flamer:

oh, and sorry for the fish eye. not a good pic. all i could find was gopro to take stills with

Peterbuilt84

I want to see how this bob comes out. Thinking about taking the same amount off of my bed when the time comes.

yotacrawler1

i love the look of bobbed bed. makes them look stout like a pitbull or bulldog hah. and the amount of space u lose isnt that much.  il post pics of it finished

Did ya box the frame since you got that part of the bed off anyways?

yotacrawler1

gahh. no i didnt. i shouldve. hahah well i will down the road. for sure. now i need to go get a TRE so i can take it on q quick maden voyage around the block

yotacrawler1

well some kind of bad news... checking all fluids before i did a hot lap maiden voyage. and my tranny and tcase. were dry. ad from underneath looks like there leaking. it all out.

i think this broken off bolt is the culprit. but idk what to do from here? pull the tranny? and get that bolt out and replace gaskets? or what? not sure. its r151f so all 23 spline. which i heard is good. but idk also more expensive if i want to go duals. so give me your opinions on what to do.

toyotanner

looks like the oil is moving from the front of the tranny back...

santa cruz crawler

X2 looks like rear main seal or tranny seal in the bell !
Jb weld the bolt hole , or try to easy out it!!

Same price.. plus having an R151F... most desirable 5speed for a 4x4 toyota and its beef.
