Backing plate eliminators? You did it the hard way lol. I just drilled out the spot welds holding the backing plate, came out really clean.

No they will not. I believe you need the later style solid axle spindles, and then you can get hub spacers from sky offroad to use your ifs hubs and fj 60 vented rotors with your v6 calipers. Might be cheaper to just get wheel spacers if thats the case, and run your v6 calipers.  Somebody feel free to chime in on this if im incorrect.

I've gone about widening and increasing braking power 2 different ways, both with really good results.

One way, FJ60 Vented rotors re-drilled to match the mini truck pattern.  IFS calipers tapped to 1/2" x 20 fine pitch thread, knuckles drilled to 1/2", calipers now mount on the outside of the knuckle, very little grinding of the rotor to clear the caliper, but only on 1 side.  Also, I had to use a set of those 1/4" slip on wheel spacers for the caliper to clear the wheel, which is pretty common with this swap.

Another way is to use early Land Cruiser vented rotors from an FJ40 which are vented, but measure the same as mini truck solid axle rotors, except for the vented part being thicker, so then you can just bolt stock IFS calipers to the knuckle and throw on a wheel spacer.  I actually prefer this setup better.  Has more of a stock feel, and drilling the FJ60 rotors out is not too fun.

So I ended up with 1982 fj40 landcruser rotors they bolted right up, only 23.00 per rotor at ohriley.

Yep, now you'll need to use your IFS calipers, and get some 1.5" wheel spacers to match the rear axle width.  Done deal.

:booya: :coffee: those look like some ruff country front hangers. i kinda wish i dropped it down about an inch from the bottom of the frame. someone told me that it would help the pinion angle. but i will have to see know that i am going to use the high pinion in the front.  coming along nice. if you have the time use it. All gusseting and painting is worth ever minute.

Front hanger is me and zebracrawler's version of Toyota spring hangers. Cleanest way to do it IMO.

Looks good, nice height, look into notching your frame for more up travel. Mine's about the same height as yours maybe a little lower and I have 6-7" up travel because I notched my frame.

Lookin' great!  If those are RUF springs you might want to keep a few extra leaves around for fine tuning.  I've always had to go with 6 leaves total after a few months of driving around and wheeling.  They get pretty soft.

They are RUF with 6 leafs.  The springs sat down flat with 5 leafs so we had to go 6 to get it to sit properly, probably going to have to go for a 7 leaf pack a little down the road depending on how they setttle (like you said) and if he wants more lift.
