Rebuilt 4 speed
« on: Feb 18, 2005, 01:17:04 AM »
Hey im looking too sell an L 43  4 speed out of an 80 pickup.
Its got all new bearings, snycro's,shifter forks, and seals.
Works great has about 15 miles on it used too run too town and back and still had grinding noise so i put in a 5 speed a buddy had and still had the noise turned out too be the rear end was junk.
Tranny works great tryed it again shifts perfectly no noises, smooth as new because its all new.
Looking too get 300.00 or best offer, need too get it in someones truck before it sets too long and gets ruined, spent over 400 on all toyota parts and was assembled by a toyota master tech so its not some redneck rebuilt junk its certified rebuilt.
Will ship and will help with shipping i can get good rates threw ups being i work for them and can get it too you cheap.
Thanks will post pics if needed.

the L43 has a 3.64:1 1st gear  the L45 has 3.93:1 1st and the big castiron case like the L50 and L52,  you can even take a L45 and ad the 5th gear to make a L52

if it was a L45 i would be on my way,  :driving:  i wonder if you could bolt 2 L43's together :headscratch:  :dunno:

no l43 is a side shift,   the case is cast iron but the l43 has a removable aluminum bellhousing

L45 looks identical to the L52

Oh and im pretty shure this one has the 3.93 1st gear in it, thats what my buddy the toyota master mechanic said, and if i remember right it was just as low and slow in 1st as my new tranny in my runner so it might have the lower gear installed.
Come on glen you need this, it shifts smooth no grinding going into gear would work good in your truck. make me an offer and it might be yours.

Do the L45's fit in an '83 4X4? I need to rebuild or replace an L52, but they are hard to find.  If they fit how much do you want for them.  I'm in Mesa AZ and will pay shipping.
