that would be a tuff one for me.  i have a really hard time keeping my cool in certain situations.  trying to avoid direct contact with the guy for the time being.  and on top of it all, i'm just going off word of mouth at the moment.  the guy might be completely innocent and have nothing to do with it.  i don't know.  i just wish the cops would get off their butts and take a whole 15 minutes to go to the guys house and at least take a look around.

if only we could.  something about the way our system is run these days just doesn't make sense.  i think we would be alot better off if we could go back to how it was 50 years ago.

my only issue with that is all the other clubs in town know me. and if the info isn't good and i threaten someone with it, i'm going to look like a doosh and probably cause probelms between our club and club the guy is in.

very tempting.  i'll see if i can round up a few of the club memebers and we all go over there.  i'll see if i can get a few of his club members to go too including the one that gave me the info.  worse comes to worse and he starts getting stupid, i'll call 5.0 before it gets ugly. i gotta wait til the weekend when i head back to bakersfield though.  working in l.a. really keeps me limited on what i can do during the week.

I called two different news stations in bakersfield the day after and they both got some info from me and said they would have a reporter call me if they thought it was worth doing a story on.  never heard back.  I've tried getting other club members to help out and follow up but people aren't very motivated this time of year and it's really hard for me working out of town to do much.  All I can do is make phone call's when I get free time at work and do what I can on the weekend when I'm in town.

I would go over and talk to them with a few club members, and kinda look around to see if you see any of your stuff.  Tell them the car that was seen leaving the place, check to see if anyone there is driving the car with the same description.  I would also be prepared to unleash on them if they get stupid.  It is always good to be prepared.

already did the checking of the vehicle and it matches the discription, black jeep cherokee.  i'm taking off work early on friday so I can get into town while it's still light out and see what I can find out.

:pokinit: theres your guy,
but could also be that he happens to drive the same vehicle and someone already assumed that it was him.

I would of already of been over there!
also sounds lame but if he has a FB go on there and see who his friends are, more than likely he had help, and would likely be his close friends.
see is any of his friends are into wheelin, and see whats being written on there pages.

even make a fake FB as a hot chick, there dumb they will add her!
that way you can see everything on there pages

i don't have facebook or myspace.  i already know his buddies are all into wheeling.  he is part of another 4x4 club in bakersfield.  it's actually one of his buddies that told me about him.  i've never met the guy or have any idea who he is or what he looks like.  just going off of what his buddy told me.  all i know is that the vehicle matches, the guys reputation from what i have heard from 2 different people now matches, and i'm going to find out tomorrow if i can get an exact address of this guy.

 :woohoo:
I just got 2 emails from two of the news stations.  I emailed them earlier today and told them I hadn't received a call back from last week, and they both emailed me and said they want to set up in interview to get the story up.  I'm not going to have time til tomorrow.  so i guess knocking at the guys door is going to have to wait til after. :dunno:

Cool! Get it out there that the police aren't doing the job to the best of their ability. Simple things like this, warrent to search this guys house, could turn up so many other things.

An aquarium store I once worked at was burglarized twice. The cops didnt really care but they got a good lead and eventually followed it. Busted the guy and found tons of other stuff he had stollen. They even got two other thieves in the bust.

It's not just the big busts like on TV. The small stuff is just as important! Possibly more!

Are they located in Bakersfield or near Fresno?  If they are near fresno, I don't mind meeting up with you for some backup if you need a little muscle.

Edwin, I hope this lead is a good one, if this guys a member of a local club his name will be mud forever.... I hope I don't know him I couldn't think of anyone i would know that would be capable of such a thing.
If confrontation is needed, maybe consider organizing a large group to go with you, anyone would be less likely to act stupid with a giant group outside your door.  When your back in town, give us a call be nice to see how things are going for you.

I'm taking off work at 1:30 today.  I should be in Bakersfield around 3:30-4 or so.  I have to meet up with the two reporters as soon as I get into town and meet them at the shop so they can get their story.  i'm planning on having a few of the guys their to chip in on the shop program we had, and hopefully if it's still light out by the time they're done, we'll take a little drive and see what we find 8)
