Yeah i thought it was pretty stiff but i wasn't for sure. I changed my mind today. I'm going to build my own shackles instead of adding leafs.. the shackles now have way to extreme of an angle and it will be way easier then adding leafs

All Pro is about the cheapest.  They are the ones I will get if I get any.  Ball joints are easy to check.  lift up the truck and put it on jack stands with no pressure on the suspension.  Grab the tire on the outside and wobble it vertically and horizontally.  you are looking for slack in the ball joints.  This is also how you check steering linkage for wear.  There are lots of Tacomas on the road road with puck lifts.  They work but they are just not the most practical.  If I were you I would get a locker for the rear, throw on some 33s and trim to fit.  Tacomas are capable, just not easily modified to hard core rigs.  They can be converted, just takes more time and money.

Light Racing is the cheapest..and a very popular option on TW..
I've seen 3-4 sets get installed at TW mod days..
83' Pickup "ShitBox" - more parts
92' Pickup "Doomed" - some parts

Got the shackles on today.. Nothing fancy at all just built them myself. I might go back and throw a small pipe in the middle for some reinforcement later on. But for now its road worthy. I ended up having to cut the exhaust off behind the flowmaster because they had mounted the pipe right below the leaf and when i went to put the extended shackles on it wouldnt clear it like you can see in one of those pictures i posted. I also threw some shocks on that i had. Pro Comp 3000's there kinda wore out but they will get the job done. I cut the shackles at 8 3/4" and drilled holes at 7" from eye to eye. Turned out perfect.
After i cut the exhaust it really changed the tone a lot more then i expected..

Thank you

Tw= tacoma world and looks good!

Ahh i see.. I'm all new to the Tacoma thing. I do have quite a few questions i need to ask about future plans though.

1. In the future i want to swap a lot of my stuff into an 84 or 85 so i dont have to deal with frame bracing and sas and all that hassle.. So lets say if i swap my body motor and rear axle over to an 84-85 frame.. I would like to run a different tranny so i can run an 80's toyota axle (I'd like to keep everything toyota) What kind of tranny would i be needing to look for a W56 with a bell housing adapter or? im ignorant to the 2.7 swaps and all that.. I may just swap everything over that i said before except the cab i havent decided. Its all future plans so in input or advise would be awesome!

You'll need a W59 bellhousing to bolt to the 3RZ, to bolt to a W56 to use a passenger drop gear case
W59 is out of a 2wd Toyota Tacoma...
I have one of the bellhousings sitting in my shop.
There easy to get from wrecking yard..just have to fast at per say Pick N Pull...i'd advise to hit a dismantling yard(ones that pull it for you..they always have Tacos)

Sounds like an upgrade to me.  I would rather build a 3rd gen pickup for offroad anyways.  Seems to be cheaper and stronger.  22re is the motor I would want too.

Well after i traded this truck off i did a lot more trading and now i have traded myself back into another tacoma and i have a really nice dirtbike also just from all the trading. The new truck is a 2000 tacoma.

So today will be spent building a lift for it so i can clear my 36' iroks

I will put pictures up soon!
