Adjust your clutch petal? :dunno: It should let out about 1/2 way off the floor.

Ive been running a Marlin 1200 non ceramic clutch since 2002.  Ive put it through 'clutch hell' in that time pulling some enormous loads,  wheeling hard and daily driving and it is still holding GREAT

I chose Marlin because at the time with my 20/22R hybrid the stock clutches simply would not stand up.

I'm with Glen on this.  I've abused the crap out of mine, the 1,200# on a turbo flywheel.  I was pulling a log up on to the road, and I had a ton of traction, (loaded with about 1000# of wet wood, and 4 low) and the clutch would not slip.  All it did was stall out the motor.

Make sure that the flywheel has a 0.026 step in it.  Marlin figured this out.

I got the 1200# one, thinking that the clutch pedal would be too stiff with the 1600#.  But I wouldn't hesitate with the 1600# clutch any day.  And make sure you get the 0.026 step put into your flywheel.

all flywheels have that step, it is the step where the teeth are and the face starts.....

Whats up with the step? Never heard of it.

If you look at about 1.5-2" from the ring gear, you can see a "step."  the stepped area is where the clutch engages.  The very outer area, by the ring gear, is where the clutch housing mounts to.

I have had great luck with the stock clutches,, both my 4runners have stock clutches with over 200,000miles and one with 250,000... The guy who owned my 85hilux be-for me was a idiot and the clutch was wasted,, i put a marlin 1600lb clutch in it when i built it and its great,, I have been really happy with it!
