-I put em in the back well because thats how most toyota pickups are so.
-i personally would like to set it up for front springs instead of setting it up for rears because the pinion angle is :pokinit:

-The reason I ask is because on the 4x4 conversion of these 2wd trucks in the 70s was called a Toyota Wolverine and they used a Dana t case and axle and mounted the front springs like a jeep with the shackles up front.
-I also wonder if putting the shackles up front would fix the pinion angle.  On my truck I would want to make it look stock.  Probably a small lift if any and 31's.  Stock the Wolverine came with 28" tires I beleive.  Wheel wells are so small it's hard to fit anything bigger.
-What would front springs do to fix the pinion angle?  From what I have found your front spring mount needs to be lower and/or rear needs to be higher.

Again, I have no experience, but this is my thoughts from the research I have found.

Good Looking truck and thanks for the info.

well i don't want to make my spring hanger lower for the fact of my buddy built a truck with a 5 inch drop hanger below a 3 in square tube below the frame which in my opinion looks retarded. if i put front springs back in the front the pinion angle is great but the axle sits far back so there is my dilemma

Here's my new purchase.  Just delivered tonight!  Your rig gives me hope for what it will become eventually.

I don't recall seeing it in the build but did you have to modify your motor mounts?  I looked at my 78 and it looks like the motor mounts are connected to the front suspension components which appear to be bolted to the frame.  I would assume you would have had to weld in new motor mounts.

Yes actually I did it the cheap way and plasma'ed the mounts off and welded em to the frame but I would buy new solid motor mounts because mine blew out but cut it off the suspension and weld em on
