...and don't get me started on those batteries in them, they will be more enviromentally unfriendly than dino farts when they are burnt out and have to be buried in a lined pit just like nukes.

Problem with corn for fuel, That no one seams to talk about, It takes over4 gals of water to make 1 gal of corn farts.   The Mid west where most of this is being done is in a huge drought and is severely short on water right now.  And electric cars have a bigger toxic waste footprint than gas cars do.

I belive when you take into account the water it takes to grow the corn it's more like 7-8 gals per.

Ethanol isn't my favorite...it's not very energy dense, but, if ethanol is ever feasible from waste by-products (corn stalks) that have a high cellulose content, that will be better than a fuel for food swap.

Stop using corn for food, it doesnt give you any nutrition anyways.

You guys ever heard of  wood gasifer?

Yep Germans used them a lot in WWII cuz we was bombing the crap outta there oil production.  Works pretty well but isn't very efficient. Same problem thou....polution and wood is  slow to reproduce, Hard to make the massive numbers we would need. And who wants to get up two hours early to start the fire in your truck before you can drive it.

I never said it was a solution, more of a cool fact of what we can do when needed to get around no oil

Yep I agree....There is a guy out west somewhere has a dodge dakota fitted for it, He drives around promoteing it all the time at the greeny shows.  I want to build one to run a small generator at our hunt camp so I won't have to pack in Gas..
