In case anyone is wondering how to enable the Quick Reply to take advantage of this new feature, do the following:
Go to your profile's Look & Layout Preferences:

Use quick reply on topic display: to
show, on by default and then hit the button at the bottom right to change your profile.
Now, when you view threads such as this one, you will have a nice text field to enter your reply into, and then simply post your reply straight to the thread without having to load the reply page itself. This method is a bazillion times faster to post up your reply, but you do not get any options such as formatting, adding attachments, and you'll have to memorize the smiley codes to use em
