I dont have much experiance with real "blacksmith" type of work, but here are a few photos of a couple super cool completely custom rails I have built at work. Unfortunately they are cell phone pics.

nice work guys!  I need to see if I can dig up some pics of the handrails I did a few years back.  I use to work at a welding shop where all we did was ornamental and handrails with lots of heating and hammering.  it was fun.

I'm not sure you'd call it blacksmithing (I'm a sheet metal guy) but I beat the crap out of it with a hammer.

I don't get it, if a person is of "color" what diff. does his  (or hers) sir name matter?
and what does that have to do with fancy metal work?  :dunno: :headscratch:
A good day working, that's just sick :reg:

I think I had about 30 or 40 hours into it.
It's made from 16ga. stainless steel and similar gauge brass for the cross, the rivets are 1/4" rod that I mushroomed to make rivets.
Was a fun project I did for an artistry in sheet metal contest local 104 put on about 10 years ago, I got 2nd place, a $1000 and a fancy dinner at the St Francis in SF.

Are you in the SCA?

I've been trying to find a video ever since you posted this...

I clearly remember an episode of Bullwinkle's Corner where he read "The Village Blacksmith"...

I found the words (script?)...you'll just have to imagine his voice.

"Under a spreading chestnut tree

The village smithy stands;

The smith, a mighty man is he,

With large and sinewy hands;

And the muscles of his brawny arms

Are strong as rubber bands."

Rocky:  "That's iron bands, Bullwinkle!"

"Read your own poem, Roc!"

I did find a DVD collection of all their cartoons...$$$
