hey guys got an 81 22r. it started sputtering out driving home the other day, i mean dying had to keep it above 2000 hard misfires.
So i replaced the plugs and still doing it, the others were coated pretty good in carbon its been running rich lately. something i noticed is the fuel in the sight glass was above full so i pinched the line to run it empty and let it sit overnight. and now its got a little air at the top, i also sprayed carb cleaner into the float bowl and let sit for a couple hours. now it will run but chugs really hard at idle due to misfire. it runs well when the choke is on(can still hear slight miss) but wen it lets off choke starts chuggin bad. will run smoother at higher rpms but still a missfire, and the exhaust stinks.
so far-
-cleaned carb
-checked for vaccum leaks even booster
-tightened valve cover (was leaking)
-checked spark for all cylinder
-checked coil but not igniter yet
-new plugs, plug wires, going to get cap n rotor tomorrow.
-new pvc valve
-tightened all connections
-pulled battery wen running, no change, alternator is working
-messed with mixture and hot idle, still misfire
basically fuel level is high, had it rebuilt going to take back for testing.
also on sidenote when ignition is ON, and motor isnt running, my OIL light its wavering. glows brighter and dimmer?
