First time going to Rubicon..... Questions.
« on: Sep 12, 2011, 08:14:09 PM »
Driving from Fresno to west side of rubicon on Thursday NIGHT.

1. Can we camp at the trailhead until morning?

2. Which is a better way to camp, wentworth springs or ichouse road?

3. Is there someone else driving in on Friday morning that we could join up with?
(first time at rubicon, don't want to goof up)

Vehicle is typical, 87 4runner, sas, 5.29's, 35's, Detroit rear, arb front, 8274 winch, marlin dual cases, plenty of straps, and a high lift.
Downside is we are still running stock birfs.

4. Are there bypasses for crazy obstacles so I don't blow my birfs?

I have wheeled the hammers and Dusy Ershim and everything around my house near shaver lake.... In my samurai....

Yes you can camp at trail head.  Loon lake has plenty of places to camp which are right there.

2. Which is a better way to camp, wentworth springs or ichouse road?
One of the spots on loon lake would be the best place.

I should be there as well as prob 50+ other rigs going in.  Friday morning is when most go in.

Vehicle is typical, 87 4runner, sas, 5.29's, 35's, Detroit rear, arb front, 8274 winch, marlin dual cases, plenty of straps, and a high lift.

Trail isnt that hard .  You will be fine.  Just make sure you bring a couple extra birfs in case you break one.

4. Are there bypasses for crazy obstacles so I don't blow my birfs?
Yes but your rig will do it all easy.

I have wheeled the hammers and Dusy Ershim and everything around my house near shaver lake.... In my samurai....

I'll be driving mine up from San Diego :yikes:.

Should be there friday morning about 10am if you want to cruise, we'll be solo as well (although i'm sure there will be plenty of others).

I've got a similar rig (87 4runner, 37's, exo).
