Dropped drag link, but if you are going to wheel it on rocks, bring spare "J" arms with you. Good luck on getting 5" lift with RUF's and Chevys.

You should also do this to the "J" arm's.

I only got about 3 inches out of my chevy and ruf setup. If you want 5 your going to have to use some lift springs mixed in or something.

You can get away with the push-pull steering, a lot of people did when Toyota's first came out with the 4x4's. But you also need to do some mods to the system if you are going to run it, J arm ball flip, dropped drag link and modify the torque arm mount the get the torque rod level to the ground. If you remove the torque arm or do not modify the mount you will get "brake steer" when you hit the brakes, it will pull to the right, the harder you hit the brakes the more it will pull. What happens is the axle rolls forward on the springs causing the draglink to push the "J" arm back, turning the wheels to the right.

"J" arms do break, especially if you hang the DS wheel in the air. Why, all the front-end weight is on the "J" arm and it snaps.

haha thanks!  but one question, the double shackle, the one thats against the frame, is it welded there? or is it just free, so it can go down farther? and im not too excited, i have to have this done by  august 25th for hunting season, and i also have to get a bumper made and mounted, and a headache rack with a winch mount  :smack:

It's free, that allows you to get more droop when flexing. I've also seen setups where the shackle that lays against the frame can be bolted in place so it can't become unloaded unexpectedly.

You will need a long slip or a square D-shaft in the front.

so, i got my rear end done, but i dont have the chevy springs in, my dad and neighbor refused to help me if i put those in, idk why, so i had to make my own leave package, and i added 2 1/2 inch blocks on the rear, and have 6 springs with the overload, its pretty stiff :/  and now i just have to do the front end, and a bumper then i can mount my winch!
