I know it's not a Yota, but for free I could not go wrong.  A buddy of mine who no longer used it, knew I was looking for a truck when I sold my dodge 3 weeks ago.  This guy is a really cool guy, and helps anyone in his path.  An all around nice guy, who began as a customer of mine, and we just became friends, and I ended up being his best man at his wedding.
The Specs:  5.7L 350, 4X4, power everything, A/C, rear A/C, 3rd row seating, and the interior is as clean as the outside.  It actually gets better gas milage than my 95 Ram I had with the 5.9L gas motor.  I just did plugs, wires, cap, rotor, fuel filter, pcv valve, oil and filter, serpentine belt, top radiator hose, and brakes are like new, tires are small on 15 inch rims, but am getting 16's for some bfg all terrains very soon.

So today I took that ugly black and chrome faded trim off the burb, looks so much cleaner.  I painted the front faded grill a nice gloss black.  It looks so much nicer there already.  Next, my cousin has a set of 16" wheels for me, that he is giving me, and I will throw on some 265/75/16 BFG all terrains soon.  Need to get rid of those 15" street tires.

Here is some updated pics after I painted the front grill black, and took the trims off the sides.  I think it looks cleaner with out the trims.

Thanks man.  If you guys have any suggestions, feel free to give ideas.  I do not know much about chevy's at all, but I am hearing that these 5.7 350 motors are a good motor to have.

It's good to know the motor is a good one.  That is the heart of the whole truck.  I really do appreciate any input about this thing, being I don't know much about chevy's.  I mean I know people with a Tahoe and the chevy trucks, they seem to be happy with them as far as all around goes.

Pulled off the front bumper rubber trim today as well.  Thinking of losing front and rear bumpers and doing something custom and tough looking.  Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I'd pull off the side steps.  Looks super clean.  One of the cleanest I have seen that old.

As far as front bumpers I love the looks of the first 2 on this link:

HULK

Those are pretty cool bumpers, I actually like the first one a little more, I think it looks more tough and I like that it has the tow rings, good for pulling.  My neighbor's brother has a tube bender, so as soon as I get the funds, I am going to make some bumpers for it.  I really want to lose the steps, but I need to wait until I put some slider steps on it so it is easy to get in and out of the truck for the wife, and it helps when I wash and wax the truck on top as well.  THanks for the pics of the bumpers man, that looks better than the idea I had.  Definitely going with the first bumper.

HULK

Should I keep those running boards, or put some slider steps on them instead?  I like the idea of black square tube steps instead of these bulky things.

jimbo74

if it is going to be a family hualer, i would say keep the steps it has... however if going to make it a trail rig, then i would get small, square tube..... for kids and the like, it is harder for people to step on a slider for ingress/egress, than those steps it has

I'm going to have it for work, but also for going up to Bass Lake in the winter time when we go camping.  I was told I could put 32's on it if I lose the geaser steps without having to gear it.

HULK

So, I finally took off the geezer steps, man it looks better without those dumb things.  It was more in the way than anything else.  What do you guys think?

looking good man

x2, nice!

amazing what a difference removing some old can do.

HULK

What do you guys think about me not lifting this monster and just putting some 31's on it, so I don't need to gear it and lift it.  I am needing something better for tires, so I am going to go with BFG All Terrains, so I can actually go to the snow this winter with it.  I am looking for a nice project Yota, which is what I really want.  Not one that is destroyed, but running, just needs work. :usa:

Yota87Truck

for a family hauler I think 31's would work well.  Or you could throw some 33's on and do some trimming.  Either way shouldn't have to re-gear i would think

HULK

So I am thinking.....Should I lift it with a 4" lift and throw on some 33's, or keep it nice and low and go with 31's or 32's?  My buddy keeps his runner lower and runs bigger tires, and it is nice so it is not so top heavy.  I like that idea.  The gearing is a 3.73.  Suggestions are welcome. :yesnod:

LilChief87

lift it with eitehr a 4 or 6 and put 33s or 35s on it

I think if I go bigger than 33's, I'll need to re-gear it.  I could throw a 4" lift on it.  I am also considering maybe just getting a yota and trading this. Don't know yet.
