lift kits for these are pretty cheap and can be found used all the time...  The 350 is a pretty strong motor and could possibly even push 35's.  But definitely 33's.  But it's definitely a family hauler and not a crawler

Yota87Truck.....I found a brand new lift kit for $500 at 4wheel parts here in fresno.   You think it will handle 33's with the 3.73 gears though?
ToyotaObsession.....Thanks man, it is really clean.  I have also been thinking about losing the back end of it, and having it be kinda like the newer avalanches, but don't know if I want to spend time on this rig so much, or just get me a yota, which I want to anyways.

automatic trans?  Yeah, you'll loose some power but as long as your 350 isn't on its last leg it will run 33s no problem.  Guys do it all the time.

But if your pretty sure you want to get a yota I wouldn't invest much money into the burb, even though it is a really clean rig.  Might be a good tow rig though.  And if you converted it so it had a bed that would be handy too.

The 350 is strong, I can easily spin tires, thought those 15" 255 are pizza cutters right now.  It tows awesome.  I towed 4 full grown horses with it to dinky no problem, the way it sits right now.

I would leave it as is. Could be a great parts getter, keeps everything all covered, and if you need to drag a rig you could easily. Or if you decide to go full trail rig you could tow it and all the tools/parts needed for trail repairs.  :twocents:

Either way it'll be fun!
Wait... What?

I love those old 'Burbs.
The father of a buddy of mine that I grew up in the Scouts with had one, it was such a sweet traveling rig!
well, I've backpacked Fordyce, but I have yet to wheel it...

I am looking to get a Yota now, something with an extra cab preferably.  Looking to sell the Burb, since I drive around for my job, need something a little smaller.I'll keep an eye out on Marlin's board and see what happens.

Dude, that is BAD!  I definitely give you the official badge of BADA$$ for that rig bro.  Wish I could keep it, but it is also my dd that I use for work, so I need to get something with a bed in the back.  Mine has been amazingly dependable, not a problem since I got it, and my buddy, who bought it new, told me he loved it as well.  Props to one awesome rig.
