if the knuckles have spindles already all you need are hubs, new seals, and bearings

yes you can use the IFS hubs to make front axle 3inches widers. i didnt know if you had auto or manual but use manual. pretty sure those are the only interchangable parts

Wrong, sorry, im not a mod, but please dont post stuff unless your pretty well informed, or have seen it work, thats how misinformation gets spread

He would have to swap a solid axle hub gear into his ifs lock hub bodies for them to even fit over his birf, which would be a waste of time

make sure knuckles have the trunnion bearing caps and to shim them properly. get hardened studs for the steering arms so you dont rip em out on the trail. their 9 bucks a piece from trailgear, i dont know if anyone else makes em

my neighbors got a IFS hub and all he said he had to do was reposition the caliper to the other side of the mount and through bolt it

Yeah he has a ifs WHEEL hub, and a fj60 rotor with fj60 studs, and he had to grind his calipers, and drill holes in his knuckles. And he STILL is using a solid axle hub body, or a ifs one with a sa hub gear

Im not trying to be rude at all, just letting you know

And apparently im more informed than you, Im running 86 toy ifs front discs and calipers on my 85 SA with 85 hubs and they bolted up just fine, no drilling or grinding needed. I just need to swap my 85 inner hub with the 86 inner i have laying around and ill be able to throw my spacers away. and reposition the caliper to the other side of the mount and through bolt it... where ever you got your info was from someone that did it the hardway

Wow, this crawln guy. A toy axle consists of a HUB DIAL, HUB BODY, AND A WHEEL HUB. 3 different terms for 3 different parts.

Yes you can bolt a ifs rotor and caliper onto a solid axle sure, Better brakes. Thats not a ifs hub body or wheel hub on the solid axle.

Ol blue To put your axle together, stock way, without modding it or drilling, or swapping a SOLID AXLE HUB GEAR into you IFS HUB BODIES, Get the knuckles, spindles, wheel hubs and hub bodies from a solid axle truck. You CAN re use the hub dial from your ifs, also the calipers.

If you cannot find a solid axle hub body, you can order the longfield hub gear, and put it into your ifs hub body, but this will not allow youi to get the c clip on the end of your birf, without machining.

i think you can but that is just upgrading the brakes. purpose of IFS set up is so you end up with a wider axle so no need to use wheel spacers i think

Is that only when you eliminate the wheel spacers? Im running the vented rotors and 86 calipers but still have the wheel spacers. but i never had to grind any calipers. just curious, I was gonna widen the front end without the spacers but after looking at the kits online it seems to pricy and the only reason to do it is to be able to use ifs hubs since solid axle hubs are harder to come by
