Sway Bar Disconnect

What's it do? What's the difference between one and just taking the s-bar off? And how does it work???

it just alows you to disconnect the sway bar without useing tools.  i have it.  i like it.  my rig used mto be my daily driver so a sway bar made it handle on the windy road i commute on.  and off road the front end twists way better with the bar disconnected.
the one i have disconnects it at the axle side and i just push the bar up and out of the way.  
it is just a couple of pipes with cross holes and two per pipe rods that are threaded on one side to bolt to the bar and axle and cross holes through them as well.  then you use two pins through the cross holes to hold it all together.
i'll try and take some pics tonight if you want to see what they look like.
they aren't nececary.  you canb just unbolt the sway bar before wheeling trips or go without one entirely.

it would be easy to make if you have access to a lathe.

i didn't get a chance to take pics yet.  my batteries where dead(in my camera) and i won't be home until monday.  so i'll post some next week.  or you can check out the nwor site http://www.northwestoffroad.com/newproducts/newproducts.html .  they are on that page.  these are the ones that i have.

yes i do have access to a lathe.  i'm a machinist.

i don't know how the ifs ones are designed though these are soild front axle ones.

My friend made some for his ifs,,said id did not make any difference..ifs has so little travel that the swaybay did not affect it..rode better offroad,but he sait not worth the trouble to make them..sounds like its time for stright axel.. :psss:   swarbars are :stopit: :stopit:
