Here is what I did. I cut an opening for the fror center section to fit into and notched the ends, and welded it all up solid. Just an Idea for ya!

was that crack caused at from the torque of twisting your d-shaft?   THat s pretty impressive, the close up looks like 1/2in material....  I dont know but that is quite possably the most imaginative way to run a strap for a tranny support!!    :headscratch:  LOL

According to Brian at FROR it was from my entire drivetrain moving forward and backward. I was at a 45 degree angle when I broke, so I'm guessing my drivetrain was moving backward toward earth and it snapped it. The material is 3/8"

:dunno:

Looks like it'll work to me :yesnod:

Looks like it will be good to me too, maybe you should cary that plating onto the tubing a bit,  just so you dont have a weak spot on either side where  the tubing joins to the existing t-case bracket.  just a thought,  after all its only as strong as its weakest spot...

I like it ...........  :disturbed:

But I think you should connect the new metal to the tube also  :yesnod: for added strength . If you saw how much it flexed at squeeze rock you would agree just go from bottom to about 4" onto the tube and it should hold just fine  :cheese:

Looks good,

personally I like Gittinit's idea better... seems more simple and will add alot more strength.  With your idea your just adding more metal and welds (which is sometimes the cure!)

But i'd go w/ Gittinit's for simplicity.

Just my    :twocents:

I think your ratchet strap drivetrain mount will be stronger than your crossmember repairs
