Figured I might as well have my own very slow build thread for my 83 1st gen.  Started off with buying it looking like this

4" suspension, 3" body, some square tube rear bumper and a cheesy halfassed chrome home built front bumper.  Dash looked mickey moused lol

so to install the newer stereo I need to fix that so I made my own new dash bezel

Removed the 3" body lift and made my own 1" body lift out of solid aluminum round bar

swapped out a non-sr5 gauge cluster for an sr5 gauge cluster.

On to today, I managed to get a good chunk of work done today that I had planned.  Swapped out a stupid tube grille for a stocker (looks way nicer), installed brand new from the deal corner lenses and started beefing up the front for my bumper build to house my 8274-50

We'll see what the rest of the weekend can bring if anything lol

Well, been a while since I've had the time to work on the truck.  Was able to stay after work today and do some personal work.  Started working on the front bumper.  Just got the center section for the winch tack welded together.  Only tacked it so I could bring it home to test fit for my 8274 and then stick it on my Mill and drill the mounting holes and mill out the fairlead slot.  Anyways, here is a few pics of what I got done today...

Nice build  Gonna be watching this as I have a 8274 myself, want to see how you end up mounting it.

Muddytazz

If you look at those 4 bolts in the previous pics, that is going to be the lower mount for the bumper, I still have to figure out upper stress mounts but can't do that until I get it actually mocked up on the truck.

Managed to get some holes drilled and did a little bit of mock up yesturday.  I might end up trimming the front face of the winch plate down a couple inches but won't know for sure until I get my winch fitted in it.  Plus I still need to finish cutting out the fairlead slot.  But here is a few pics of where I am at now.

I got a little bit more done on the bumper today at work
Pics were taken after I got home though, next step is to get this part welded out and start working on some brace work to the frame.

iv managed to find one at a pick n pull

For everyone with a first gen, I am in need of a pic if you can get me one that has done crossover steering already.  I'm trying to brace my winch plate and am needing to know if you had to completely cut off the factory bumper mount on top of the frame rail (ex. in the pic).

Well, finally had a little time to work on the front bumper today.  Been sick last couple weeks with bronchitis :smack: which kept me from doing anything.  But all is good now and put in a good days work on the ole girl.  Here are a few pics for ya to look at...

I did get the bottom sides of each sides of the bumper all tacked in place, just forgot to get some pics of it.  Will get some more once I bolt it back up for turn signal placement.

Finally got the front bumper all done and back from powdercoating through my work and installed last night.  Took a couple of pics of it this morning to show you
