ecu relocation??
« on: May 22, 2011, 07:50:10 PM »
Anybody move there ecu up from the stock location behind the kick panel? I was looking at it in my 91 extra cab and it looks like it can be easily done without extending any wires, and some glove box trimming. But I was wondering if anyone else has done this? I'm mainly looking for ideas to secure it down once it is moved up.

I saw a thread about it on pirate a while ago and can't seem to find it again.

Alot of people have done this.  Especially, if they plan on doing any water crossing.

Did you have to extend anything, or just re route some wires and good to go?

I've seen some guys get tupperware containers or similar, and slightly mod them for the wires.  Put ECM inside and mount it.   I haven't heard of anybody having to modify the wires.  Just reroute them.

Made a couple of brackets, had to cut the corner of the glove box. Wiring fit, no rewiring.
