Tranny from 4spd to a 5 spd.

hi i have an 84 single cab pickup. 22r 4sp. My question is i want to start building it can i buy a used w56 and swap it with the transmission that is in there now and get the 5th gear? is it as simple as swapping the bell housing and transfercase to the w56 transmission?

I got your pm and yes you can swap a 4 speed 4x4 trans for a 5 speed 4x4 transmission.  It will bolt right up.  All connectors and clutch slave will work.
