So what does everyone have planned for Mothers day?

My wife is the hardest person in the world to shop for so i'm open to ALL idea's. I had planned on taking her out to eat and maybe a movie... Bad thing is I don't get off work until late so I have a feeling she's not going to want to go out so late.

As far as presents go, she wants this light kit for taking pictures.. but I have no clue exactly which one she wants!

Arrgh..   :ack:

We don't do Mother's or Father's day...we do Parent's day. Just a day to get together and enjoy family. I think the other is nothing more than marketing pressure.

Sorry...but, don't you know your wife well enough to perceive her wants?  :dunno:

I know, that last one is a trick question.

Not a bad idea, but it'll never catch on with the Greater American Marketing Genius Organization!!

Haha, how true. There's an old Mel Gibson movie titled "What Women Want".

The title cracks me up -- women don't even know what women want!!

Every year our whole family takes my no 89 year old grandmother to Chinese buffet for lunch.    Kind of weird if you ask me but that's where my mom goes so I go too.   She is always too full come dinner time so my siblings and I stopped trying to take her to dinner a few years ago.

Well played sir.

My wife doesn't like jewelry and probably wouldn't go for chocolates. She likes odd things....

Very picky too.... I fail 90% of the time trying to buy her stuff. I typically just tell her to go buy something herself now and take all the guess work out of it.. lol

Well played sir.

Thank you.

Maybe dress the family up and have professional photos taken.  :dunno:

A video montage of family photos, your daughter singing, stuff like that?

NOOOOOOOOOOO GIFT CARDS!  I got my wife a gift card to the mall, big mistake.  I got the speech about how it was not thoughtful at all.  I told her I thought you could get whatever you wanted from different stores, she said at least go to different stores and get them.  It made no sense to me because if she spent a certain amount in one, she would not have like a dollars left at one store where it could have been used at another.  I also got her tires for her truck the first year because they were bald, and when she had to stop in the rain, she slid sideways, so I thought it was safer for her to have good tires.  Poetry is nice, dinner, maybe buy her a nice outfit, take her out after you eat to let her choose an outfit, and act like you are not bored shopping for clothes.  As my wife just walked in and .... :whip:

KA4x4Chick

Did u give her a thoughtful card with the gift card? Something thoughtful is key for any holiday. Me personally I want somethin cool for my runner I find that very thoughtful cuz he knows what it needs and what I'd like it to have *hint hint* hehe well guess I wouldn't complain with a diamond ring tho good luck men its a womans world out there!!!

I actually write her poetry at least a couple times a month.  Every birthday, or holiday, as well as on the 4th and 18th of each month.  On the 4th, 9 Years and 4 Months ago we were officially together when I asked her out.  Also, the 18th, 5 Years and 3 months ago we got married,  So I think I am doing O.K KA4x4Chick.  I don't know yet if she is a mother yet, but we will find out hopefully like this weekend.  It will be our first, and as much as I joke about the baby crying and sleepless nights, I love kids, my 2 neices are so funny, they entertain more than the television with the odd things they do.

KA4x4Chick

Wowee that is so awesome!!! Kids r truly the best thing anyone could ever hope for in life! We have a 3 year old daughter and will have another someday soon too. I am goin to school to be delivery room nurse cuz kids and mommies are the BEST! Well I got my fingers crossed for u!!! :)

I'm Ok just couldn't come up with anything else to say, spent the day with Campfire Girl and celebrated the day for her since she is the mother of my children which makes her a mother too, just not mine. My mothers birthday was a couple of weeks ago so it was kinda a double whammy.
