MCR10 Camping Enforcment

I don't want to sound mean or anything but is there going to be any sort of vehicle check-in at the Springs this year? It seams a lot of people are showing up without paying for camping locations and taking spaces that have been payed for. Brings up the idea, "why do I need to pay". All the proceeds go to Rubicon, yes! But I know of quite a few people where frustrated last year, who payed, and had to camp outside the Springs.

MCR8 i remember getting a 5.5/8.5 sheet to put on dash at check in to say i payed for spot.
i would like to get same spot for group this year =]

I at remember mcr6 the grounds keeper actually went around to all the trucks in the springs and checked to see if they had paid.  if they hadn't, he collected a camping fee right then and there or asked them to leave.  but that was the only time i every saw any kind of enforcement.

last year we got our green sticker at checkin but if you didnt get the package deal then you can buy a camping permit. but i agree there were alot of people with out a green sticker camping out at the springs

I don't want to be a cop but I would like to see people who payed get first dibs on spots. I really don't want this event to turn into a Jamboree or Trek thing where you have to pay to even get on the trail. I like that the trail is still open and people can join in the festivities.  Then MCR can give even more money to Rubicon

Last years run I paid and registered and I wasnt able to camp at the springs. had to go down more past the helicopter pad on the left side by the water fall. heres an idears whom that register, should get a ticket that has the campsite's number. as in ticket one get camp site one. that might help.

All that is considered the Springs. You have to pay to camp all the way down to the Dirty Dozen.

This is a good question and I want to thank you for asking it. It does such with freeloaders take advantage of us all, but don't worry because...

This is correct. The same applies for the Rubithon event where every registered rig was required to put a little green sticker on their headlight, and I believe Steve was on hand walking the entire campground collecting camp fees for those who had not paid.

This is standard procedure for the Springs camp ground, so expect to dish out some money if you are a slacker showing up without supporting the event. They have done a TON of improvements to the trail, installed at least half a dozen more out houses, and even include lights in the outhouses now. Seriously, it if such a great place to camp the small fee to pay for the entire weekend is well worth it in my opinion

I didnt get to register as I have been away for a while.I would love to register and pay. Can I do that still or do I just have to camp outside the springs?

Will a forestry pass work, you can buy them at Big 5 and  I'm usually able to camp with ones of this a local camping area, not sure if those apply here

Remember the springs is private property and it is the landowners who are collecting camp fees, not the forest service.

The consensus is, if you've payed MC or the Springs caretaker, you can camp at the Springs.

Please, everyone, if you did not pay to camp at the Springs, leave the space open for those who did That is all
