Been lurking on this site for a few years.  My name is Mark.  I have a 87 4Runner that I use as my DD and occasional trail ride.  I am also the chief mechanic for my son's 89 Toy truck.

That's just freakin awesome!!  I went to OSU during the Coach Pettibone years.    

I live 20 minutes from Sandlake, and I don't go out on the sand.  Sand is bad for rigs.  I'm a hills kinda guy, like you.

My little 4Runner has a broken engine.  Last week the old girl starting pooking out a bunch of white smoke from the tail pipe.  Went to move it into the garage and she just locked up.  Guess it's time for a rebuild OR better yet, a 3RZ swap! I will be picking up a 3RZ from a 2002 Taco on Friday to swap into the oild girl.  Engine has 90,000 miles.  I'll create a "Build" Thread once I start to keep you all up to date of the progress.
