my ruf on my truck is is 4wd springs 4 pack, way flat, 2wd springs seem to have much more arch. should i use the 2wd mains or 4wd mains? the 2wd dont have military wrap. so im thinking of either switching to 2wd spring and makeing pack total of 6, or use 4wd mains and cut down the 2wd drive mains and adding to current pack. any thoughts? i searched and didnt get any results. both from 1st gen truck

superyota

what year also makes a difference.  3rd gen rears are longer than 2nd or 1st gen rears.  just a little info I thought might be helpful.

If you can't convince them, confuse them.

Yeah, the latter.

I would stick with the 4wd mains (the main and the military wrap) just so you have that military wrap for extra insurance...then build your pack out of the 2wd from there....
I am pretty sure the springs with more arch are towards the bottom of the pack (not the main leaves) anyways, which in your case would help you with more lift.  If you want more lift and don't mind the stiffer ride, just add a leaf or two to your pack now from the 2wd (usually you will get 1 inch of lift for each leaf you add-give or take a little depending on springs used).  A lot of guys are running 5 or 6 RUF leaves to get the right lift/ride combo.

I have a wierd mix of springs in my RUF but feel free to check out what I did in my build: http://board.marlincrawler.com/index.php?topic=78730.0

Most RUF if using stock toy springs sit pretty darn flat when loaded unless you add a ton of springs to the pack.
