I just got an 85 toyota pick up lifted 3 inchs on 33's it has cross over steering ARB air lockers front and rear 4:88 gears and rancho 9000 shocks. i want another inch or 2 of lift so i can fit 35's. idk if i have to move the axle forward or what would be the best and cheapest way to give it that couple more inchs to fit 35's. I heard ranger spring f150 springs and s10 spings work good but idk what work the best. anything helps. thanks

you can fit 35's with 3" lift, just do some fender trimming and you'll be fine.

85toyota

so if it i just trimmed my fenders i wouldnt have to move my axle forward?

yoshaleng

right, trimming your fenders will give you enough clearence. moving your axle forward will allow your tires to meet the rock before your bumper, grill, etc...and it extends your wheel base. for a better ride, put some stock toyota 4x4 rear springs in the front, that'll give you about 3-4" of lift and it'll kick your axle forward about 2-2.5". those skyjacker springs are pretty stiff.

85toyota

do you think id regret trimming my fenders for now and doing the rest later? cause im broke im 16 and have no job but looking for one. haha

We're putting 35's on the 4Runner, going to lift it 3 inches total and don't plan on trimming the fenders, Maybe pound the seams flat but that's about it. Done it this way many times with no issues. Of course the 4runner already has custom fenders but I'd have done it with stockers.

I think it all depends on the springs that your truck has now, on my brothers 85, he had some skyjacker (I think) 3" springs and we had to trim the fender and the pinchweld to clear the 33's he had. just in the rear of the front fender..

85toyota

okay well im just trying to aim for 35's the cheapest way. i might just put the rear sky jackers up front and put f150 springs in the rear and get everything else i need and call it good for now. but first need a job. haha

85toyota

I'm not to sure but ill just ask him to use it when he gets home.

85toyota

How bad do you think ill rub with your 35s on? :headscratch:

83 Crawler

no clue just put 2 on on one side that way we dont have to switch over all 4

85toyota

Alright. i have a feeling 35s would be fine driving but it would hit my fender flexing.
