Well I just figured this would be a good place to start considering people on this forum have probably done it. So therefor I am searching. Have fun throwing rocks in the quarry.

I swapped my 85 pickup from carb to efi.  used a donor 85 pickup.  you will need the complete harness from head light to tail light and everything in between including guage cluster, sesnors(knock, oil, etc.), distbrutor, coil, etc. and also gas tank.  don't forget to get everything from a complete donor truck.  if you buy what someone says it a complete efi swap, make sure EVEYTHING is there. it would be best if you pulled it yourself to make sure you get everything.  lots a little plugs and relays under the dash that you need.

:spit:  A little over sensitive, are we?  You asked a question and I gave a simple and concise answer.  If you don't understand what I said, you're likely tackling a project which is far too complicated for you  ;)

 not exactly changing oil here but in your case they did make efi trucks and runners in 85 so if you can find an 85 donor that would be your best bet
