so i can either get toyos or bighorns. im looking at 35s with a 15 inch wheel. i know toyos are good but just cant decide on the two. ive had good luck with bighorns in a 31 when my truck was stock. but idk... i do alot of street driving, and snow wheeling. what would be better? :help:

thanks for asking cause i was try to pick between them as well.

I had several sets of Bighorns on a work truck and I always like them.  Nothing wrong with Toyos but I would probably stick with what I've had.  One thing about the Bighorns is that they were about the best handling high speed loose dirt/gravel tire I've ever had.  Pretty good all around for everything else too.  I think the Toyos are kind of wide like a 13.50 aren't they?

yeah ive had like two sets of 31s but didnt know anyone that wheeled them. so hoping someone would tell me how they liked them offroad. ive had lots of friends with toyos and loved them, and yeah they are wide but i like it... but i dont like the weight and the 10ply of them...

im picking up some 35in toyos this weekend...

The way I'd break it down for myself would be: do I want a tire more bias toward heavier off-road use, or do I want an all around capable tire that'd do just fine off-road but be a little lighter and less aggressive?

punchyyoter85

yeah. lol i did end up getting toyos.

I never liked the looks of the Bighorns.  Toyo's have a better all around tread, and a tougher casing.

the ones i have do have a 3 ply sidewall i'm pretty sure.  they are a little softer than other tires but OMG they stick to rock like your truck is a tree frog.  mine are almost completely bald now (getting some Pit Bull Rocker Radials this month) and still perform great.   If i didnt have my mind made up to get the rocker radials i'd get another set of BigHorns in a heart beat.

most full size trucks have toyos

I've been considering Toyos for my next set of tires, can anyone comment on how they perform for a daily driver?  I've got 40K on my current Pro Comp MT's and they've held up pretty good for what I've thrown at them

If you're running as a daily, Toyo I the way to go. That's what toyo designed the tire for. The quietest, smoothest running m/t out there. I ran 37's on mine and loved them.

toyo mts are built for full sized tow rigs. they are 10ply, load range E(80psi). the heaviest tire on the market. I would never recommend these for offroading. not for a light toyota or jeep, not for airing down, no side wall flex.

BFG km2 , Goodyear mtr, Cooper stt, Swampers are all good tires built for offroading.

Not all toyo's are 10 ply. All the 15" sizes are 6 ply I believe. And for a dedicated off road rig, yea there are better tires. But if it's you DD/ weekend warrior, you can't beat the road manners. And they do make competition Toyo mt's if you wanted a dedicated off road one

Jokeass-Wheelers

I am going to say Toyo all the way I got 37x14.50 open country m/t and I am open open have had them for 2 years mostly on street and snow still are almost brand new and do amazingly great in snow and are awesome street tire they actualy got rid of the death wobble at 35mph

Im running open country 37 and now considering on going bigger then 37s. My next set will be the 38s open country. Toyo Out perform all others that Ive seen off and on the road.
