doing the rubicon without dual cases?

I have been to both rubicon and fordyce twice yet to take my own truck. my rig 91 extended cab 3.0, sas, 4:88s detroit rear, tru-trac in front and 35s with steel wheels my crawl ratio is 49:1. and a 6 year old centerforce clutch. any one done rubicon (and i say rubicon because my opinion its "easier" than fordyce) without even lower than stock gears in t/c? I know it can be done and i wouldnt do it without replacing my clutch and installed heavy duty marlin. eventually i will have 2:28s and 4:7s in rear case just need the moolah

It can be done but I think it'll alot harder on your clutch.

Think about this jeeps do it all the time and they hardly ever have dual cases, plus they're in a jeep so they already have a disadvantage

hummers do it. ive heard of people doing it in ifs trucks and i highly doubt they had duals. its all about how good a driver you are. 97% of it can be done in a stock rubicon with good tires.

Can easily be done. I saw a guy (believe he is a member here) that was at MCR7 a couple years ago. Bone stock 85 pick up, think all he had was a rear locker and bumpers and sliders. Made it all the way through. Pick your line well and you should be fine.

I went on a Jeep Jamboree on the Rubicon 20 some years ago as a kid after Jeep was bought by Chrysler. As a perk for some of the upper management from Japan (some Dodge vehicles were made there) Chrysler flew them over and gave them brand new Wranglers bone stock to do the 'Con. I don't think any of them had ever seen or done anything close to off roading before, and they made it thru with varying degrees of carnage, so I think you'll be fine. Those guys had no technique other than skinny pedal. It was great to watch.

Ran it twice last year with a similar set up to yours with no problems. The want for duals will become a need for duals after you run it.

My first time to Rubicon was in my rig with a single stock tcase, ez locked rear, open front, and 5.29's.  did just fine.  you just need to remember to not use the clutch.  Let it stall out before you start slipping the clutch.  And now with all the paving thats been done, it will be no problem at all, assuming your taking bypasses and running the trail from loon to tahoe.
