BornTo4Run

Hello.  I'm new to this forum but not new to forums.  Bought my first Toyota (and first 4WD period) last year...an 87 4Runner SR5.  It has a Marlin front bumper (no stinger), home-made rear bumper, Aussie Locker rear, welded front, 5spd, and stock everything else except rebuilt 22RE using Crawler cam from engnbldr.  I have a full-blown case of 4Runner fever...absolutely obsessed.  I want to buy a 2nd runner and perform a 3rz swap.  Thanks for this nice forum.

Peterbuilt84:  That is a nice build you have going.  I really don't see how you make the time (going to school and all).  Here I am whining about not having a shop to work on my stuff, and there you are outside on a concrete slab in December.  I guess I need to man-up...but I get really stupid when I get cold.

Thanks! I did most of the in the summer and now during the day on my break since it gets so cold at night.

Let see some pics of that 4runner!

Well, let me get my 10 posts in to prove I'm not a cyber terrorist and I'll post what I have...nuthin out of the ordinary...just a farm Runner.  I made the mistake a few years ago buying an ATV (Kaw Prarie 650), when I should have bought a Runner for half the price. :hammerhead:

Weather was great here in TN yesterday so I crawled under the runner to grease everything with a fitting.  I just recently installed MOOG TREs and pitman...they came with grease fittings...cool!  I just can't seem to get my steering wheel lined up.  I've taken the pitman off and adjusted several times.  My steering wheel sits about 90 degrees off.

I probably have about 300 lbs of stuff in the back.  While I was under the truck, I noticed my leaf springs were absolutely FLAT.  Was it just that Toyota didn't know how to design a decent rear suspension?  Should I go back with standard replacement leafs or put the Chevy leafs on it?  I really don't want a high lift...don't like the instability.
