Topic: T18A Transmision for jeep with short input / output shafts

I am looking for a T18A trans. This came in 75-78 CJ5 and CJ7, the T18(A) has 6.32:1 first gear. Please PM me if you think you have or know where I can find one.

how come you don't get one from a Ford, they're more common from there

All I know about this subject is what I have read here.

It looks like the two wheel drive ford will work, but needs a new tail shaft and an adapter that may cost as much as getting the correct trans to start with.

Let me know if there are any other options. Keep in mind it will bolt to a Scout II bellhousing and I want to use the toy box on the back converted into a full transfercase.
