Topic: R transmission input shafts

I've searched but found many threads with no responses and some with conflicting information so I'm hoping someone can clear this up for me.

Are the input shafts on R transmissions interchangeable? More specifically can I put a R154 or 96-04 input shaft on an 88-95 R150F?

More specifically I'm planning a 2JZ swap into my 89 (22re) pickup so it looks like my options are either to swap the input shafts for the one I need ($250) OR I get a 96-04 transmission and the offroadsolutions.com Transmission to RH transfer case adapter with 23spline input gear.

or find a T100 R150F with the passenger drop.... yeah right.

Hello!

Yes, between the R-series Toyota transmissions, the input shafts are definitely interchangeable. For example, the shorter R154 and 3.0-liter R150F input shafts are sometimes needed to replace the longer input shaft in the 3.4-liter R150F.
