i need some help guys, i think my turbo is siezed up. im not sure. the symptoms are excessive white smoke, the turbo is also not even trying to spool up. ive checked the headgasket and there is no coolant in the oil. so im sure the old ct20 finally gave up. im looking to have this one rebuilt or buy another ct20. any input would be greatly appreciated

Sorry I was thinkin the CT 26. The one from the 7mgte. My buddy and I tried it on his 87 Turbo truck and failed miserably haha. It required alot of modifications to the manifold and wastegate actuator.

I dont think he really looked into it very well. We ended up plasma cuttin the orig manifold to make it fit. He didnt do too much research on it and I had no idea about the rte engine.

disconnect your air intake pipe from the turbo and stick your fingers inside the turbo to see if you can spin the turbine.  obviously it should spin with basically no resistance, that will tell you for sure if its siezed up and you need a new one

LcEngineering has a kit but its not cheap. This is the reason why we parted out my moms clean 86 turbo toy. after the second turbo went out we said flop it.

We had a 22re head on a turbo block. Remember that the turbo block has different oil passages for the turbo that a  22re block will not have.  :beerchug:

Well ladies and gentlemen, ive been leaving the toyota on backburner. i bought a newer ktm enduro and have been having fun on that thing. But its time for the summer rebuild. seems to be a habit im forming i seem to re do it every summer. first order of business is make it not so damn beat looking. i started on it today. i swapped a new bed on. tommorrow its getting gutted and im cutting the inside of the cab out to hammer some dents out, new front fenders, new hood, new TG bumper New TG rear bumper, and a winch. feels good to be getting some bloody knuckles again. As far as the turbo goes. still working. i dont leave town though. i dont trust it. it will be getting a new motor and turbo when funds allow it. some pics

thanks man. just measure everything twice. i always rush and mess things up. make sure you have around a 18 degree front shackle angle.
