int. wipers?
« on: Dec 22, 2010, 07:23:24 PM »
so i got a 1980 pick up that only has "fast" and "faster" for the window wipers. i recently bought a tilt colum that has int. low, and high.

but when i click it down once to int. it does nothing but lo and high still work normal. is there a way to make int. work? maybe a different wiper motor? diffferent relay? thank you.

The colum has two more wires that run to the wiper motor. You might also need an updated motor and run the extra two wires.
If you see it, its for sale.

Here is the FSM of the 80's wiper system. If yours didn't come with it you would have to add the relay as well as the L-Y and L-W wire to wire the relay. The later models the relay is housed in the column as seen in the 88 FSM and you would only have to added the L-R and L-W and possibly swap columns.

If you see it, its for sale.
