Hello from Australia
« on: Dec 22, 2010, 08:40:14 AM »
Howdy fellas,

The name is Tom and im here in Western Australia.

Ive been building up a 1997 HZJ75 Landcruiser over the last few years and im now at the point where the gearing on 40" tyres was too quick.

Locktup and Marlin crawler have sorted me out with a H55F/splitcase Toybox. I received it yesterday and found no form of instructions included.

Was hoping the folks on here could impart some wisdom as to what im up against. Ill start a thread in the right section later, this is more of an intro.

Here is the rig in question.

Thanks.

Thanks guys ,

Specs are as follows;

Springover
Shackle inversion
Parabolic springs
redback 12" air shocks
Smaller High pinion front diff with
F&R Detroit lockers
4.88 diff gears
Longfeilds up front
3" wheel spacers all round
1HZ 4.2L diesel motor custom turbo/intercooler 25psi
4" inlet 3" exhaust
h55f 5spd gearbox
splitcase transfer
Hydro assist steering
Internal/external roll cage
40x13.5 sticky compound maxxis trepadore tyres

The front toy axle is very surprising im only running 27spl chromo cvs with standard axles and they have lasted for over 2 years on 37's and a little while now on 40" stickys.
I am changing it out though the housing is very bent and twisted after some hard knocks and repairs. Going with a 60 series front lengthened short side.

Thanks for reading!

Thanks guys  :beerchug:

Well ive managed to fit the toybox, but ended up having to make a few parts to make it work. Marlin did not send the correct spacers in the end.

Now ive got to make it fit under the truck, i think my handbrake unit and a crossmember near the fuel tank will be in the way...

FUN FUN!

Big thanks to Marlin Crawler and Locktup 4x4 for hooking me up with some very nice gear!

:welcome: from California! Beautiful 75 Series! Glad to see more International members signing up. Love the Toyotas and the scenery over there.

I created a thread on here about International Toyotas in which I have tried to compile as much accurate information about Toyotas in other countries as possible. Some other non-USA members have been able to contribute and fix incorrect information. If you ever get a chance, and see anything thats not right, feel free to chime in. The link is in my sig. We are all extremely envious of the Toyota selection you have that we never got.

Looking forward to seeing more.

hey everyone, its been a while!

The toybox has been sorted and put to the test, its great.

I ended up rolling it too many times so its now undergoing big changes, full width built tons and coilovers. I will update soon :)
