Grinding calipers
« on: Dec 21, 2010, 09:19:31 PM »
Ok so im putting the v6 calipers and bigger rotors on the front of my truck, im running a 15 by 8 in wheel, with like 4.25 in backspacing measuring from the back of the wheel, i have 1.5 in wheel spacers also. So will i have to clearance my calipers and if so how should i do this?

With 1.5" spacers, you shouldn't have to grind them.  If any, it might be a light grind.  If I remember right, there are like 4 different castings for V6 calipers.  And if you run aluminum wheels, they have a deeper caliper pocket machined into the backs of them, vs. the steel wheels.

4 and a 1/4 backspacing :yikes:     most have 2-3 inch bs wheels you should be able to grind the calipers and be ok if not then a 2 inch spacer is in your future

Now that i think about it i think it's 4.5 or 5 from the front on the wheel so that'd be 3.5 or 3 in backspacing, im not positive though. I guess i'll find out tomorrow when i put them on
