I bought a 79 pickup three years ago and fell in love with the simplicity and reliability of these tuff little machines.  Formerly a Teamster raised Dodge boy (my old man gives me hell every chance he gets).  I somehow managed to find an absolutely amazing truck with a perfect body. For this reason I am leaving it very close to stock.  But have pulled a couple hundred pounds of stuff off the engine and simplified as many things as I could.  3236 weber gave me lots of trouble tuning here at altitude but have her pretty close. Think that is a good start.  Thank you guys for the awesome collection of knowledge put together here.  I am looking to do lots more with this rig...

Thanks again
Matt

For now as is.  Starting a new business and $ is tight.  I can already wheel circles round most people on the trail so I'm pretty happy with it.  Don't wanna chop it all up and ruin the stock look of it. Plenty of pics here.  Can I post them already?

Thanks for the warm welcomes.  How many people on here are running the MSD 6AL?  I put one in my buds 82 22r a few months back and it really added some pep to it.  Any other ignition upgrades ya'll are using?  Also while I'm thinking bout it, my distributor cap gunks up on me really fast lately.  Have to keep a spare with me at all times. Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance
Matt
