ok, I had the transmission rebuilt on the 93 truck I'm working on.  It has the r150f transmission and transfer case.

I was following the FSM on here:
http://personal.utulsa.edu/~nathan-buchanan/93fsm/manualtrans.html
but page 37-2 of the re-assembly pdf simply says to "reinstall the shift lever" which is a little lacking in description as there's a spring inside the transfer case.

I tried setting the shifter back in place in a couple of ways and have the lever itself in the shift hole properly but its outside of the spring itself.  the transfer case shifts fine but the 4WD light on the dash is always on.  how do you situate the lever according to the spring inside?  I dont want to bend or break the thing and cant seem to find a good answer anywhere...

Complete FSM for 93

http://personal.utulsa.edu/~nathan-buchanan/93fsm/

In the Transfer section on page TF-34 it shows how the spring is installed on the bottom of the plate.

In the Transmission section on page MT1-24 it shows what it should look like from the top and how to install the stick.

dont know what TF-34 shows other than the removal of the spring but MT1-24 is the page I was needing, thanks! dont know how I missed that page.

now I just gotta figure out why the dash light still wont go out.  I guess its time to climb under the truck and see if I actually hooked the switch harness back up.

That was just to show you the orientation of the spring.
