Just wondering has any one used a Toyota push/pull (stock solid axle box) steering box for forward swing cross over steering? If you pulled the box off of it's bracket turned it 90* counter clock wise moved it back about 4-6" on the frame and mounted it I know it would work in theroy but would the box hold up?  I have seen forward swing boxes on Toyota trucks before but they have been off of a LC or a Scout and they work well. I just dont know if the push/pull bo would be strong enough to handle the abuse.  I know that the pitman arm from a IFS box will fit on the SA box both are 30 mm 48 spline shafts.

Any thoughts???

It could work but I think it is just WAY easier to swap in an IFS steering box.  They are also cheap and available...

Only if you use a non-power steering version. Which of course means, you have no power steering. Which of course means this is bad idea.
