Hello, new to board and crawln, been wheeling the mud and woods for years.  I have had a few different 4x4s small and big, but always liked the toyota pick-ups, and wanted to build more of a crawler trail truck.  But even with being a 'yota/lexus tech for 8 years (with Acura now) i never owned one.   Well anway had an '84 less bed and rear half of frame i was gonna build until I found a complete running/driving 1975 Hilux for $300, that had been converted to 4x4 pre the 1st factory 4x4s, with an early Jeep Dana 28 front axle and and dana 20 divorced t-case.  For a 35 year old toyota from the mid west, that has been home fabbed over 30 years ago, its solid and you gotta love that nose!. Needs a cab floor and minor frame patch. Lots more details and upgrades, but i'll get to that in the Build-up section.  Enough of the babbles, hello again! great site, cant wait to share my build! :beerchug:

Little on my self, auto tech by trade, UTI grad, married with a 13 month old son i cant wait to have help me build!  Been in IL most my life, so mud, creeks and the woods have been the gist of most of my wheeling. coupple nice parks to wheel north and south of here to go.  Building the 'Yota to be less mud (if not none at all, i hate the 2 day clean after) a and more versital/capable rig to go more places

Mine started helping me at 3 yrs., unfortunatly most of my tools just got stuffed in any opening in the frame he could find. Now he's 16 and has his own 85 4Runner.

Hahaha, I can picture that.  My little man already flips his toys upside down and tries to fix 'em like daddy!
